Helps clean up desk clutter,
I’ve always used a laptop connected to a monitor as my primary computer and thus have always faced the problem of how to place the laptop while its connected. For years I used the BookArc, which freed up valuable space on my desk by holding my laptop sideways, but it still had a footprint of its own. The AluRack now solves that problem with a mount for the back of my Thunderbolt monitor to lift the laptop completely off the desk. It’s a simple and elegant solution. And, by using the Thunderbolt monitor, taking my laptop on the go is easy: I only have to disconnect the Thunderbolt and power cables and grab the laptop. It’s easy to mount and is constructed of quality materials that match the monitor.

|Great Product – Highly Recommended,
Very happy with the product. My MacBook Air mounts neatly behind my Apple Thunderbolt Display out of the way. I also purchased a competing product to do the same thing. That other product is going back I am sticking with the AluRack even though it cost more.

|Pretty and quite functional, but beware of possible cooling issue,
I have a 13-inch, Mid 2009 MacBook Pro and an LED Cinema Display. Once I saw the AluRack online, I decided that it must be my desk space solution. I used the AluRack with my MBP positioned as shown in the product pictures: apple logo upright and facing outward. After a few months, I noticed something I had never heard before: my MBP’s cooling fan.
The cooling vents are on the back of the MBP, in the position where I had placed it on the AluRack. If you place the Mid 2009 13-inch MBP in the same position as shown in the picture then you are blocking the cooling vents, making your MBP work harder to cool itself.
I flipped the MBP over (Apple logo upside down and facing outward) and the fan resumed its normal, quiet state, even under heavy load.
So, I give 4 stars because it satisfied everything I needed. I took a star away because of this cooling issue.
